The Church of England is about to embark on its Lent and Easter campaigns for 2019 – LentPilgrim and EasterPilgrim.
LentPilgrim is a 40-day discipleship journey looking at The Beatitudes – Jesus’ eight sayings from the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5:1–10). The course starts on Ash Wednesday (6th March) and will finish 40 days later on Palm Sunday (14th April). EasterPilgrim will then explore The Lord’s Prayer for 40 days from Easter Day (21st April) until Ascension Day (30th May).
The reflections have been written by Bishop Steven Croft, co-author of the Pilgrim Course.
You can watch an introduction from the Archbishop of York to the LentPilgrim campaign below.
The LentPilgrim and EasterPilgrim campaigns will include:
- A full-colour booklet published by Church House Publishing
- An app for Android and iOS, based on the award-winning 2018 #LiveLent app
- Daily emails exploring the reflections. Each email will contain a short Bible reading, an invitation to reflect, a suggestion for prayer and a prompt to act – https://bit.ly/2EKABWF.
- Daily audio content for smart speakers, in the app and on the Church of England website.
