Claire Reetz is one of the Diocesan Missioners as part of the Gen2 Project. She is in the second year of her placement in the Tove Benefice. She specialises in pre-school and primary schools ministry, as well as ministry for children and families.
We caught up with Claire recently and asked her a few questions:
- How excited are you to be part of the Gen2 Project?
The Gen2 Project is a fantastic opportunity and I am delighted to be a part of it. I am excited to see what God has in store for my ministry and feel very blessed to have the support of the Diocese.
- What are your plans for the next year?
My current plan for the year is to continue my work within schools, leading toddler groups and Sunday groups for children. I am planning to lead a fellowship and Bible study group for parents, and also a Fresh Expression of Church on a Sunday afternoon. I am also beginning a diploma in Theology, Mission and Leadership at Church Mission Society in Oxford, and I am excited to see how my study will impact my work within my Benefice.
- Has anything surprised you about the training so far?
I have been surprised by the diversity in Children and Families Ministry across the Diocese. Meeting regularly with other Children and Family leaders has been very beneficial to gain new ideas and talk through any concerns. I feel that it is vital to understand the needs of the community you serve and adapt your own individual practice.
- What is your ultimate aim as a result of this training?
My ultimate aim is to work with my incumbent to guide and support a diverse Church community. I want to reach out into my local area and offer opportunities for others to explore and grow in faith.
