A joint letter from the Archbishops of Canterbury and York – public worship to be suspended

A letter has been issued today by the Archbishops of Canterbury and York, confirming that public worship is to be cancelled until further notice. The letter can be found here.

There is also a press release and further guidance on the Church of England website. This guidance will continue to be updated regularly and will contain a host of resources, including video links, PDFs, live streams of services, mental health reflections and much more. We will put these up continually both on Cross Keys and on social media.

Church is changing and being done in a different way, but it is not closing. As the Archbishops’ letter states: “Our usual pattern of Sunday services and other mid-week gatherings must be put on hold. But this does not mean that the Church of England has shut up shop. Far from it”.
